Weather Warning for 18th & 19th July
As I'm sure you are aware, we are in an area with an amber weather warning for Monday and Tuesday, which could see temperatures reaching over 30 degrees.
Clothing: children are allowed to wear uniform or PE kit - whichever they feel coolest in for the duration of the weather warning. Please ensure they still wear sensible shoes (no open toed). Sun cream and hats are essential.
Lesson times - we will not be doing PE outdoors at all during the amber warning. We will also only do gentle PE indoors – the DfE guidance says no vigorous exercise in temperatures of over 30. IF there is a breeze and IF we can find appropriate shade, teachers might take classes outside for some learning. We will pull blinds down if the sun is glaring in our windows, we will make sure everyone drinks plenty of water.
Breaktime will be indoors. Lunchtimes will have a short 15-20 min outdoor slot in the shaded woodland area only – nothing in direct sunlight for the children to get some fresh air. If we are at all concerned, we will bring the children in.
As ever, we will be on the gates to answer any questions you might have.
