Accelerated Reader

In Year 3 the children complete a star reading test which generates a number range of books for the children to read e.g (2.2-3.2).

We are encouraging the children to take out 2 books from the library so they can read one at home and one at school.

Once your child has read the book they then need to quiz on the book in school. This is usually 5-10 comprehension questions for them to complete and they can then change their book.  Every book they read they must quiz to see if they have understood what they are reading.  We prefer children to quiz at school, but you are able to see their progress on line.  If you click on accelerated reader and bookshelf you can see what books your child has read and what their score was.

Your child should know their log in, but please ask their class teacher if they can't.

Some children might not be assigned to Accelerated Reader yet and will be bringing coloured book band or 'Stage numbered' books home.  Reading these books is their priority and they do not need to quiz at the moment.
