Mindfulness Glitter Jars.

How do you use mindfulness glitter jars?

Just like your big feelings, shake up a glitter jar and watch it swirl all over.  Then set the jar down, watch it swirl and breathe. As you breathe and are still, the glitter starts to slowly settle and become more calm. Watch until you can see through the jar again.  Explain to your children that their minds are sometimes full of thoughts that spin around madly inside their head just like the glitter in the jar. Sometimes these thoughts create strong feelings like anger, sadness or anxiety, and that's okay, but it's best to calm down before they take control.

Mindfulness Scavenger Hunt.

On your next outing or local walk can you have a go at finding some things within nature that represent these statements?

You may like to choose a statement for each person going with you, when the hunt is over you could discuss what has been found.

It is lovely to spend time outside and really focus on the nature around us and what it means to us.
Happy Scavenger Hunting 🍃
