School Closure Tomorrow - Tuesday 5th January
Dear Parents and Carers,
As many of you will be aware, the Government announced this evening that we are returning to a full lock down from midnight tonight. Because of the increasing rates of transmission we would reiterate the Prime Minister’s request that if at all possible, pupils should remain at home.
We have met with the other leaders from our Trust and agreed that we will remain open for vulnerable pupils and the children of critical workers involved in the fight against COVID-19 only. We will be sending out a questionnaire tomorrow to all parents and carers to prioritise and plan our provision.
In the absence of any detailed government guidance, tomorrow, please only send your child to school if:
* You are a Covid critical worker and have NO OTHER childcare provision available.
* Your child falls within the vulnerable pupil category (e.g. is in receipt of an EHCP; has an assigned social worker, is a young carer, etc.)
Over the holidays teachers had planned a return to face-to-face teaching but now have to make plans for online learning; the fewer pupils we have in school the sooner we can finalise and share our planning with you. We recognise that this is incredibly difficult news; so please bear with us while we respond to this latest development. We will contact again will further plans as soon as possible.
Thank you for your understanding,
St Leonard’s Primary School Team
